Today's Challenge: Agitation
— TODAY'S WINS —
- Managed to get Dad to have breakfast with little distraction
- During breakfast, I presented him with the empty bowls I use for his snacks (they are for toddlers) and together, we stacked them up according to color... he seemed to enjoy this
- With his new meds his attitude and behavior has improved but seems to not understand what to do when he's tired - requires physical hand holding to focus
— CHALLENGES + SOLUTIONS —
We're on D8 of his new meds.
- Challenge 1 - AGITATION CENTRAL: he slept in 10-20 minutes spurts and found contentment in removing his bedsheets, removing the contents of his drawers, and placing everything on the top of his dresser.
- Challenge 2 - Hoarding + Hiding: Additional items from the kitchen and living room found on top of his dresser, including a few kitchen towels, paper plates, and the placemat. Also, we found his socks and pajama top (which we'd dressed him in last night) in the utensil drawer in the kitchen. Weird stuff.
SOLUTIONS: Just letting him go through his own motions; frankly we're exhausted after new behaviors of the past week and he's irritable because he won't sleep
— PERSONAL CHALLENGES + WINS —
- Sleep: Had around 7 hours of sleep but woke up a lot because Dad was awake and moving about making a lot of noise
- Food: I made lunch
- Time for myself: Had plenty of time for myself, but that time was spent doing chores around the house and Dad's laundry
- Self-care: I washed my face
- Additional Notes: I did some of my own laundry
